A Child expert claimed that TV can fry a child’s brain, yes she used the term “fry their brains”, and that they are better off playing outside, engaging in games such as jigsaw puzzles and in arts and crafts. The television has once been referred to as the” idiot box” (lol).
But there are times when mummy has stuff to do in the kitchen and needs baby to be distracted for a while, she turns on the TV, tunes to a cartoon showing channel, puts him in his walker and stations him in front of the TV.
Now, just because it a cartoon does not make it healthy for the “little ones”.
All cartoons including any form of violence (fighting, shooting, stabbing, strangling), adult jokes are moves, glorifying money as the answer to everything, horror (with ghosts and all) are a No No for the little kids.
Now if we use this as a filter, and we being honest, we will be left with only SpongeBob Square pants. Of which, it has been said to mess up the IQ of these little ones.
Keep it healthy on all sides. The television is one out of many other safer distraction mechanisms.
