You need to know that drinking coffee early in the morning will increase the amount of hydrochloric acid inside your digestive tract. This can be very problematic, especially if you suffer from gastritis.


Hydrochloric acid can cause digestive problems, because it would cause a difficult digestion of proteins. When protein isn’t fully decomposed and absorbed, it can lead to other digestive issues, such as: bloating, inflammation of the bowel, irritation and might cause a colon cancer.

The main reason why experts suggest to avoid drinking coffee on an empty stomach, because it will increase the levels of acid in the stomach – which causes vomiting and bloating.

You should have a breakfast before drinking your morning coffee. If you can’t start your day without a cup of coffee and you want to avoid breakfast, you should add some milk or butter in your coffee.

    If you are using coffee as a energy booster you can try to replace it with a banana. Bananas carry vitamins & minerals and they give you energy as well.

    I absolutely do because it makes it taste so much better. As does anything else that you consume on an empty stomach. I wasn’t aware of these things, though. Now I feel that I may have to do more research.
