8-year-old Gabriel Taye committed suicide last Friday, after he was knocked unconscious by his classmates (read here). New surveillance footage has just been released to show the moment his classmates slammed him into a bathroom wall, knocking him unconscious for over seven minutes. While Gabe lay unconscious, his classmates can be seen kicking and prodding his unconscious body before school staff came much later to attend to him.

School authorities initially claimed that Gabriel fainted but after the boy’s mother accused the school of covering up the attack which occurred on January 24th, the CCTV footage had to be reviewed and was released by the Cincinnati Public School system.

The story was sad within itself, I couldn’t even bare myself to watch the video. No child, in fact no one should be bullied. As parents we need to sit down with our children and teach them the importance of not bullying and how it can affect someone.

It sad we as parents have to worry about our kids everyday when they go to school and what’s really going on when we not around. And for the staff who tried to cover up what went on in the bathroom should all be fired or disciplined for the simple fact it could happen again to another student.

Prayers go out to the family. It’s sad we can’t send our children to schools where they’re supposed to feel safe, meet friends and learn but this definitely heart breaking and I wish justice done.

I’ve never been a fan of bullying! This is very emotional and I almost couldn’t bring myself to continue to read the story. I know someone whom son killed himself at the age of 11 because he was being bullied. How can some sit and watch someone get hurt and not want to help? I always sit with my kids and teach them morals and to respect others. I teach them the importance of not bullying and how it affect others and to also tell them to not stay silent if it’s being done to them. I always tell my children to treat others how they want to be treated. This is being sad. May God be with his family and may his soul Rest In Peace!
