Monica Riley, 28, hit headlines last year when she talked about how she kept piling on the pounds to fulfil her sexual fantasy.

She was even fed through a funnel by her fiancé, Sid, in her quest to consume more than 10,000 calories a day, ballooning to a whopping 700lbs or 50 stone in weight.

But after suffering two miscarriages, Monica has decided to ditch the weight so that she can healthily deliver a baby.

Monica, from Forth Worth in Texas, said: “At one point in my life, I wanted to be the biggest woman in the world. I wanted to be bedbound and immobile and be fed ever more.

“But now that I am pregnant, it’s been a wake up call.”

After falling pregnant in summer last year for the first time, Monica continued her unhealthy way of life without realising the harm it could do to her unborn child.

At the 12-week scan it was revealed her foetus was missing an arm and the lower part of its body.

Devastated Monica and Sid later tried for another baby and fell pregnant again, but she experienced heavy bleeding at 14 weeks and suffered another miscarriage.

In March she was shocked to discover she is pregnant again – despite the fact she wasn’t having periods – and, now 15 weeks into the pregnancy, Monica is on a mission to lose the pounds and become healthier for her unborn child to reduce the risk of losing another baby.

Impressively, she has lost 201lbs – just over 14 stone – in 10 weeks, taking her down to 499lbs or 35.6stone.

She said: “I want to be able to be active with my child. I want to be able to get up and with him or her and be involved in every way. You can’t do that if you’re immobile.

“I accept that my eating habits were terrible.

“I feel guilty for having the miscarriage and knowing that I could have changed the things that I ate.

“I have been told all my life that I needed to lose weight and after a while it sort of loses its urgency. I thought everything would be fine.

“When I first found out I was pregnant this time I was really nervous and scared because I knew that I had to change a lot of stuff.

“I don’t want to lose any more babies and I didn’t realise how dangerous it was to be pregnant at this size before. I want to be healthy enough for the baby to keep growing.

“This time I am doing lots differently. Doctors told me I had to lose weight and Sid has encouraged me too.

“I am changing the way I eat, I’m exercising, and taking care of my body. I’m trying to get proper sleep every night and walking every day and I feel different already.

“I am still very heavy. So walking is still hard but I am getting energy back now.”

What Monica would eat before

When trying to consume the maximum number of calories possible, Monica would devour six scones, six sausages in a bread roll, a big bowl of sugary cereal, two weight gain shakes, four McChicken sandwiches, four double cheeseburgers, a large French fries, 30 chicken nuggets, macaroni cheese, Taco bell and a gallon of ice cream on the average day, eating constantly throughout the day.

Now she eats healthy salads and steamed veg with chicken breast, and is undertaking daily walks to boost her weight loss.

“Will he still find me attractive?”

Monica acknowledges that her weight was what initially attracted Sid to her – and the reason he continued to help her become morbidly obese.

So what happens when she loses the weight?

She said: “There was a part of me that worried as I lost weight that Sid would lose interest in me sexually. We did meet on a fat fetish website just over a year ago and I know he loves my curves.

“I spoke to him about it and he has reassured me that he loves me no matter what size I am.”

Sid added: “I am not just attracted to her body. I am attracted to her as a whole complete person.

“At this point, I don’t care if she’s even 120 pounds. I told her even if she’s tiny, I would still be in love with her. There aren’t two ways about it.”

It hasn’t been easy

Monica readily admits the road to a healthier body hasn’t been a walk in the park.

She said: “The diet has been very difficult. There has been a lot of crying and a lot of mental challenges. Food for me was an addiction pretty much, just like alcohol or drugs.

“Now, I am eating 2,000 calories a day compared to 10,000, so it is a big difference.

“There are healthy foods that I absolutely love, like avocados and brussel sprouts. I enjoy chicken breast with steamed vegetables for dinner, but I have to admit that I do miss cheese and pasta.”

“We are going to encourage the baby to eat well”

“I don’t have a goal weight in mind, it’s more about health than size. The pregnancy is progressing well and the baby has a strong heartbeat.

“We are going to encourage the baby to eat well as he or she grows up. I don’t want my child to think that being fat is wrong, I just want them to be active, healthy and happy.”
