A toddler fell from her fifth-story bedroom window and miraculously landed on an awning with just a bruise on her arm.
Mother Kelley Dzyuba heard screams from her New York City apartment on Friday night and ran to her daughter Audrianna’s bedroom to find the window open, the New York Daily News reported.
When she looked out, her toddler was on the green canvas awning – which measures just eight feet across – covering the entrance of their Bronx apartment building.

Audrianna often sits on the window sill of her bedroom, which is always locked with a latch the toddler can’t open by herself, her mom Kelley Dzyuba said.
But around 6.30pm, the toddler’s cousin Isabelle Goff, 17, who shares a bedroom with the baby, opened the window to listen to the rain.
The teen stepped away to grab a slice of pizza from the dining room and immediately heard a thundering sound, followed by cries from below.
The teen let out a scream when she looked at the window and saw Audrianna on the awning – which measures just eight feet across and 20 feet long.
Kelley, who heard the commotion from the next room, told the Daily News: ‘My heart sank and it hasn’t come back up yet. It’s an absolute miracle.’

Father Aleks Dzyuba ran down to the building entrance, but couldn’t reach his daughter, who was still laying on the awning, crying.

A second-floor neighbor whose window is positioned right next to the awning managed to pull the toddler to safety, and she was taken to the Jacobi Medical Center..

Aleks joked that he was the one confined to the hospital bed while his daughter was up and about, having escaped the ordeal with just a bruise on her arm.

The family received a notice about safety bars over the windows just hours before Audrianna’s fall – and were unaware they needed window guards, having moved to the apartment recently.
