A Louisiana mum, Chrissy Roussel recently shared photos of her very large and beautiful family. In the photos were her kids, her siblings and her sibling’s kids.

17 beautiful cousins were pictured wearing custom-made T-shirts, each with a number on it to indicate birth order. The shirts also came in different colours to show which children were siblings.

In an interview with HuffPost, Chrissy said:

The kids are growing so fast that we try to capture them all together whenever we can. Since they’re all so close in age, we thought it would be fun to line them all up by birth order.”

The family photo, while amazing also shared a touching tale of loss. It served as a tribute to Chrissy’s late father who passed away three years ago. Chrissy found out she was pregnant with triplets while two of her brothers’ wives were also pregnant as well shortly after her father’s death.

Chrissy explained why this moment was a way to honour her late father, Frederick Michael Fix Jr.

They’ve brought so much happiness and joy to our family when we needed it most. It is so bittersweet that he never got to meet them. The photo reflects so clearly my parents’ love for each other, in that all 17 kids are such funny, thoughtful little people. We consider this ― these kids ― to be his greatest legacy. I think that’s the sort of legacy that everyone hopes to leave, too.”

The photos first appeared on the Facebook Page, Love What Matters where it has already garnered over 30,000 likes. It was captioned with the words:

When I look at this picture of my parents’ 17 grandkids, I notice in particular those five rainbow babies who brought so much joy in the months and years after my Dad passed away. We miss him so much, but we feel his presence every day through the love and joy of all these kids.”
