A two-month-old baby boy died in his mother’s arms after she fell asleep while breastfeeding him inside of their home Tuesday morning, police say.

Caleb Choi was found unconscious and unresponsive when officers with the NYPD responded to the Staten Island home on Arden Avenue around 5.30am after his mother called 911.

The infant was transported to Staten Island University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The medical examiner will determine the baby’s cause of death.

The baby did not have any obvious signs of trauma, the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information said in a statement.

Police sources told the New York Daily News that the baby may have died when an adult rolled onto him.

Authorities believe Choi died of accidental suffocation or Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, a police source told the Daily News.

Choi’s mother, whose name has not been publicly released, is not facing any charges at this time.

    Ooo my 😔, when breast feeding a child it’s a lot an sometimes you can get very tired, when I breast-fed my daughter I would put a pillow under her so if I did fall asleep I couldn’t roll on her….. I’m sorry for mother an father….. r.i.h lil man 🙏🏽😔
