This group of bikers may look intimidating, but deep down inside, they have hearts of gold! They did something wonderful to protect this down syndrome boy from possible bullying.

Whilst Sean Maehrer, from Allentown, Pennsylvania, was getting ready for his first day as a freshman at high school in September 2015, his mother was getting worried. Growing up with Down syndrome, he was often bullied by classmates, who would make fun of him for being different.

His mother expressed her concern on Facebook, and soon, the word spread …

A local motorcycle club learned about the worried mother. The bikers thought they needed to do something for this mother and her boy, and decided to help out. They planned a grand escort for the boy in order to let the other children see that he was not alone, and thus made Sean the “coolest” kid on the block.

That grand escort happened at 6 am, on the morning of Sep 1, 2015.

As Sean was getting ready for school, the door bell rang, and he saw a fleet of more than 16 bikers clad in leather jackets and vests, lined up in one long procession on the street outside his home in Pennsylvania.

The tough-looking bikers offered a surprised Sean a customized helmet, and invited him to ride on the back of one of the bikes.

Sean’s mother was in tears by the amazing support of these riders. These burly-looking bikers had also raised a few eyebrows among their neighbors, so they too popped out of their homes to witness the highly unexpected motorcade, before they all took off to school!

Sean proudly wore his helmet and vest, and jumped on the back of one of the bikes, with a dozen riders following. It was so cool, and he was grinning from ear to ear!

Sean high-fived his biker friends before they left, and his grand entourage went on their way as the freshman entered the school’s front doors. This was probably something Sean would remember all his life.

With the support from the bikers, who are very committed to their local community, Sean wasn’t just the talk of the block, but also the “coolest” kid on the first day of school!

Even till today, Sean remains friends with the bikers, who cheer him on during his soccer games!
