The loving smile of this brave toddler, who lost all her limbs to meningitis has captivated the hearts of thousands! She may not have limbs, but just see how much she can do!

Three-year-old Harmonie-Rose Allen is a lovely and brave toddler.

One day, this lovely lass from Bath in southwest England asked her mom, Freya Hall, “Mommy, where is my hands?” and Freya replied, “You don’t need hands.”

She said, “Oh!” and started befriending people by saying, ‘Hi! I’m Harmonie with no hands.’”

Harmonie contracted a serious strain of Meningitis merely 10 days after taking her first steps. Her parents’ joy was short lived when she was given only a 10% chance of survival. They were left with no choice, but to agree to the distressing decision to amputate both her arms, legs and the tip of her nose, when she was just nine-months-old, due to the deadly virus.

“You sign that form to say it is okay for her to have her arms and legs amputated and you almost feel like you are in the wrong, but you know it’s the best thing for her because without it she would have died,” recounted Freya.

The brave toddler went through 10 surgeries in Bristol Children’s Hospital, including painful bone shaving procedures after the amputation.

“Whenever I tell people what a devastating impact meningitis has had on our family I don’t think they understand quite how severe it was and the suffering it caused,” said the devoted mother.

The amputation left Freya sad initially, but soon she began to feel a lot happier when she witnessed Harmonie’s unlimited talents.

In spite of being without arms or legs, and having to take medication to alleviate her pain, Harmonie is a normal and happy toddler, who can do everything you would think a toddler can do, such as painting, trampolining, playing with her favorite toys and more recently, swimming!

“She is becoming much more confident in the water and we really look forward to what she will achieve!” wrote her loving parents on the Facebook page, Hope 4 Harmonie.

With or without limbs, the little toddler is still full of life. She bounces with ease to get around and holds cups by grabbing them with her shoulders and arm nubs. She never gives up.

“She bum shuffles everywhere. She is like a little rocket now,” shared Freya. “We were the lucky ones, Harmonie may have lost her arms and her legs but she can still enjoy her life.”

Seeing her captivating smile when she spooned yogurt with her pincer-like arm attachment has captured the hearts of many, including Leanne Iles, who wrote on Facebook: “I love how whenever we see Harmonie, she has the most beautiful smile! She appears such a happy little girl. Goes to show whatever we face in life, we should smile through it and keep positive! Such an inspiration.”

Freya added: “I look at it as if it is normal. But other people look at it as if it’s amazing and they are shocked at what she can do—they admire that she can basically do anything.”

With or without limbs, she keeps her wonderful smile
