She was bedridden, unable to breathe and walking around with a generator and an oxygen cylinder to support her breathing. On top of that, Gladys had lost her sight and had had seven miscarriages after her former husband beat her and abandoned her.

Her state was so worrying that she moved a street boy into tears after he met her. Kenyans in their droves came together and raised over KSh 7 million for her treatment in India. Gladys was eventually put under medication and now Ndung’u Nyoro, the man who widely shared her story, has yet again given an update about her state.

Nyoro says Gladys has been recuperating well and her state has completely changed.

“Gladys Kamande is a testimony by herself. She keeps getting better and better by the Grace of God. No more use of wheelchair. She walks unaided and can possibly run if required to do so. She’s as cheerful as ever,” Nyoro captioned the photo he shared.
