due date was December 22, 2015. She did not come on her due date. On December 25, 2015 I was admitted to the hospital in active labor and was told I was going to have a Christmas baby. As she is my first and only child, I was going to have a vaginal delivery, however, it did not turn out that way. After hours of labor, 2 epidurals, and pain beyond your belief, they soon realized that I was no longer able to handle it.
Lyric was delivered via c section at 2:24am on December 26, 2015. She stopped breathing as soon as she came out. They immediately had to intubate her where she almost immediately started breathing on her own. After being held in the nursery for 4 hours of observation, they finally brought my baby girl to me. And there I was, a first time mom, with God’s greatest gift placed into my arms. I was clueless about everything. Today Lyric is happy and healthy and 10 months old. She is my heart and soul and every day I am encouraged by her smiles, her hugs, and her kisses to be the best mother I can possibly be to her. Mommy’s little princess.. Lyric Lei Symphony.
