Every year, millions of babies are born, and not all of them are cute; many have a face that only a mother can adore, and some don’t have one at all. One mother, Emily, quipped that her kid was a “ugly” newborn at first, but that he grew into his features and has become cuter with each passing year. Karen criticized her despite the fact that she was just joking about and in some ways admiring her son.
Emily shared images of her now three-year-old as a newborn on Facebook with the caption:
While many people praised Emily’s post, one Karen came across it and felt compelled to express herself in the comments section, where she dragged Emily. She expressed herself as follows:
Many individuals backed Emily and called for the troll to be deactivated, posting things like, “She’s joking, of course! She can call it whatever she wants because it’s her child!” as well as “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, who I’ve heard parents refer to their children in far more derogatory terms… If you just have to worry about what other people call their children, consider yourself lucky.”
Other commentators flatly contradicted Karen, saying, “Listen, I can show you some horrible images of my kid as a baby, and he was clearly unattractive. “Stop getting triggered,” and “As a newborn, I was a real potato.” I wouldn’t mind if someone called me uggo.”
Everyone can agree that Emily was correct about how adorable her son is now:
