Pregnant Rihanna and A$AP Rocky hosted a rave-themed baby shower last Friday night, just two days after the rapper’s arrest.
The “over-the-top” but “super intimate and private” party, where guests rocked neon outfits to fit the theme, was held at a studio in Hollywood, HipHollywood reported Wednesday.
Those invited to the VIP affair were not allowed to take photos or videos while inside, though they were gifted fun party favors including T-shirts with the photos of the couple when they were kids on them. The message on the tees read, “I Went 2 Rih & Rocky’s Rave Shower and All I Got Was This Amazing Shirt.”
Rihanna, 34, and Rocky, 33, reportedly did not have a registry for the event.
The festivities took place after the rapper was arrested at LAX on April 20 in connection to a shooting that occurred last year. He had just landed from a highly publicized trip to Barbados with Rihanna when he was cuffed.
The LAPD said Rocky, whose real name is Rakim Mayers, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon over a Nov. 6, 2021, incident with a firearm in which “two acquaintances” got into an argument that resulted in Rocky firing a handgun at the victim. Rocky and two men fled the scene on foot.
The victim claimed that the “1 Train” artist shot at him several times and at least one bullet grazed his left hand.
The day of his arrest, Rocky posted a $550,000 bail and was seen leaving the Los Angeles Police Department headquarters and getting into a black SUV. Days later, he and Rih were spotted grabbing dinner together at hotspot Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, Calif.
The drama unfolded after rumors that Rocky had cheated on Rihanna.
A Twitter user claimed the Harlem native stepped out on the billionaire with Fenty shoe designer Amina Muaddi, but sources told Page Six that the story was false and they were not breaking up. Muaddi herself later called the allegation an “unfounded lie.”
Rihanna and Rocky revealed in January that they were expecting their first child. They have yet to reveal the baby’s sex. They started dating in 2020.
